Experience Summary

Air One Labs is a small, highly regarded environmental chemistry laboratory serving California and other western states. Air One is currently operating in Vista, CA and has created a fixed base laboratory facility dedicated to the analysis of low level volatile organic compounds in ambient and indoor air as well as low level soil gas investigations.

Air One was originally Mobile One Laboratories, Inc. and had been providing clients expert field sampling, on-site mobile lab and in-house analysis services in California for over eighteen years. Mobile One sold the field sampling and analysis services division in May of 2008. As mentioned above, Mobile One started operations in 1990 to provide on-site support for leaking underground storage tank (LUST) cleanup operations. Since then, the company grew and added capabilities to include many types of field sampling and analysis services, as well as in- house analysis. In addition to having analyzed hundreds of thousands of samples over the course of its nineteen year history, the lab's staff pioneered some unique techniques used both in the field and in regional in-house laboratories. Mobile One was the first "mobile only" laboratory to be accredited by the state of California Environmental Lab Accreditation Program (CA-ELAP). We also built and operated the first mobile labs performing EPA Method 8260B in the field in the State of California. Five years ago, we developed the first mobile labs to perform EPA Method TO-15 in the field as well. With the sale of the "mobile" division, Air One Labs was born. We have acquired a set of state of the art analytical equipment to continue to serve clients needing low level air analysis. We invite all inquiries and are pleased to discuss all aspects of our services.

Project

ENVIRON
Wylie Labs, Norco, CA
2005-2007

Analysis of ambient air, indoor air and soil gas samples by EPA Method TO-15 in 4 residences in Norco to determine extent of possible contamination from an underground trichloroethylene (TCE) plume. Dr Picker was responsible for the lab and chemistry staff and personally conducted some of the indoor air testing at the homes. This included on- site and off- site 24 hour monitoring of some of the houses for TCE contamination.

2005-2007

In conjunction with the above project, Dr. Picker conducted indoor air sampling and analysis at Norco High School to determine levels of vinyl chloride in the Science building.

Various Projects
2005-2008

Dr. Picker analyzed split samples of indoor and ambient air from classrooms and crawl spaces in several buildings by EPA TO-15 on-site in the mobile lab. The results were compared with samples sent to a secondary lab. Results agreed extremely well.

Dr. Picker was in charge of all analytical chemistry for H&P Mobile Geochemistry from 1998 until the sale in 2008. In addition to the setup and checkout of the instrumentation, Dr. Picker wrote all Standard Operating Procedures, assigned and trained staff, and in general had oversight of all indoor air/ambient air projects.
